Each year, Kirtland Federal Credit Union (Kirtland FCU) helps deserving high school graduates with a scholarship to their chosen college or university. To be eligible applicants must be accepted to a two- or four-year college or university and enroll in the upcoming Fall semester.

“This past year has been challenging for all of us as we faced a global pandemic and especially difficult for seniors adjusting to new routines in their final year of high school,” said Matt Rarden, Kirtland FCU President/CEO. “We are proud of the four individuals that have received scholarships, especially during the pandemic.”

With all the obstacles that students had to face this past year, Kirtland FCU asked graduating seniors to write about the impact of COVID-19 on their final year of high school and the lessons that they will carry from their experience into their future education and beyond. From the many applications received, four high school seniors were chosen to receive a 2021 Club F.I.T. Scholarship.

The 2021 CLUB F.I.T. scholarship award winners are:

First Place ($2,000) – Joshua Jackson
Joshua will attend New Mexico State University

Second Place ($1,500) – Roman Martinez
Roman will attend Gonzaga University

Third Place ($1,000) – Dillon Goodwin
Dillon will attend Baylor University

Fourth Place ($500) – Zora Sanders
Zora will attend Howard University
