A business account is open under a business name, not a person’s name. A business account helps you manage your company’s money separately from your personal finances.
What types of businesses can open an account?
We support many business types, including:
No. Business activity must be done through a business account because they follow specific federal regulations and have different fee structures.
Yes. You can keep both personal and business accounts and each needs to be used for its intended purpose.
No, you can become a member when you open your business account. However, membership eligibility is required.
Yes. Our Business Services team will help activate business online access and help walk you through our features and benefits and how to give others access as needed.
Yes. You can move money the following ways:
Absolutely! Please request one when you convert your account.
Yes. One card per authorized individual with access to the checking account.
Yes. We can issue a debit card to others who are granted access to the checking account and are authorized to have a debit card.
Yes. However, other financial institutions may charge an added fee for the use of their ATMs, or the merchant you are using may charge fees.
The business owner/control person(s) must report the card lost or stolen immediately so we can shut the card off and protect the account.
How to report it:
Daily purchase and ATM limits do exist, please follow up with your Business Account specialist.
You will receive your statements monthly, and you can choose to have them delivered electronically to your email or by mail. Please note that if you choose a paper statement fees will apply. To receive them electronically go to “Documents and Statements” and choose the “paperless setting” option.
Yes. Statements are separate for each account. You should expect to receive individual statements for each account. Preferences on how to receive them need to be selected for each account.
Yes. You can access them under “Documents and Statements”. You can access the past seven years. You can click on the statements and download them.
Yes, interest will be reported for interest-earning business accounts such as savings, money markets, and CDs. You can view them online or in our mobile app under “Documents and Statements”, click on “Tax Forms and Notices”.
Yes, you can order business checks, however they will be in your business name. You can order them online, over the phone, or by the vendor of your choice.
Yes, Business Checking Accounts can use online Bill Pay through online or mobile banking and perform the following:
Payments can be sent electronically or by mail depending on the payee. Mail payments can take up to 7-10 days.
Yes, you can set up recurring Bill Pay. You can also schedule recurring transfers between your accounts through online or mobile banking under the “Make a Transfer” tab.
A business can write a check from the business account payable to themselves personally. The check should be written from the business account, and the check needs to be signed by someone who is authorized to transact on the account.
