Kirtland Credit Union is proud to announce the winners of its 2024 Kirtland CU scholarship program. Each of the four selected recent graduates will receive a $2,500 scholarship to help pay for their college education.

Kirtland Credit Union established the scholarship program to support the next generation of community leaders. “Investing in education and our youth is one of the best investments we can make for the future of our community. These four graduates exemplify excellence and leadership, and we are proud to support them as they pursue their goals and make positive impacts,” states Matt Rarden, President and CEO of Kirtland Credit Union.

For over 65 years, Kirtland Credit Union has focused on empowering members and investing in the future. By awarding these scholarships, we hope to ease the burden of student expenses and allow these talented individuals to pursue their career goals and dreams fully.

The 2024 scholarship recipients were chosen based on their academic excellence, community involvement, leadership abilities, and aspirations to create positive change. The winners are:

Duc Pham graduated from Cibola High School at 16 and founded the Asian American Student Association. He plans to attend college at the University of New Mexico and aspires to become a dermatologist.

LaNiah Bolden, a Del Norte High School graduate, attended the Space Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (SFJROTC) and was recognized with the Military Officer Association of America (MOAA) JROTC Medal for her leadership skills. LaNiah is pursuing a degree in Business Administration at the University of Portland.

Huy Nguyen graduated from La Cueva High School and achieved his nursing program CEC and LPN. He plans to attend the University of New Mexico to further his medical degree.

Tamia Nez, an Albuquerque High School graduate with honors, has volunteered as a camp counselor at Ponderosa Christian Camp. She plans to resume her studies at the University of New Mexico, where she plans to study Biology and one day become an Orthodontist.

We are proud to invest in the futures of these remarkable individuals and wish them the best in their continued education and careers. Their accomplishments demonstrate the power and promise of the next generation.
