Safe At Home (And Away) with Mobile Banking

Online banking has been part of our lives for years – signing on to check our balances, make bill payments, or transfer money between accounts is second nature by now.

However, not everyone has made the jump from online banking to Mobile Banking yet – so here are some good reasons to consider using Kirtland FCU Mobile Banking:

1. Access anywhere, any time

As much as we want to provide you with in-person service at 3:00 a.m. when you need to pay your credit card bill, we need our rest too – but Mobile Banking gives you secure access to your account anywhere your smartphone has network availability, any time you need it. No need to boot up the computer – just tap our app.

2. Stay up to date on accounts

You can set alerts for any of our Kirtland accounts through our mobile app, so you can be notified if your balance falls below a certain level, or a withdrawal exceeds a specific amount – or if you receive a deposit over a specific amount. Hello, pay day!

3. Send and receive money

If you owe someone money (or more urgently, if they owe you money), you can pay them directly from our mobile app with PopMoney – all you need is their phone number, and you can send money!

4. Securely access your money

Kirtland FCU Online Banking is secure – and our Mobile Banking app is even more so! You can set up your Mobile Banking app to use biometric authentication, like fingerprint or facial recognition, to work as your password – it’s still secure, but much easier than having to remember that long string of letters and numbers to access your accounts.

5. Remote Control your money

Our Mobile Banking app is like a remote control for your money – need to make a check deposit? Mobile Check Deposit lets you tap, snap, and deposit instantly.

Lost your debit card or credit card? You can deactivate your card in Card Management, and reactivate it when you’ve found what you need – or you can report your card lost or stolen, or set travel notices as needed. It’s super convenient!

6. Keep on top of your money

Money Management allows you to keep track of your budget, for your accounts at Kirtland and outside of Kirtland – track your accounts, transactions, spending and income, set budgets, view trends, and plan for future goals. This budgeting feature is free with Kirtland FCU online banking, and is at your fingertips through the mobile app.

Staying Safe When Using Mobile Banking

  • Use a verified banking app from your bank’s website. (Our app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for iOS and Android platforms.)
  • Make sure your bank uses multi-factor authentication. (Our app has MFA turned on by default!)
  • Use a strong password – having a reputable password manager helps with this, and using this in combination with biometric access like fingerprint or facial recognition makes security convenient for you.
  • Avoid using public wi-fi. Use your cellular network or secured home wi-fi instead, and your personal information will be less likely to be accessed by the bad guys.
  • Set up account alerts via text or e-mail. The faster you’re notified about transactions, the faster you can act to squash potentially fraudulent activity.
