2024 Kirtland CU Board Nominations Announced

The Nominating Committee has selected nominees to fill two vacancies* on Kirtland CU’s Board of Directors. A mail ballot will not be sent unless more nominations are filed by petition. Standard petition forms will be provided by Kirtland CU and are available from Andrea Watson, Executive Assistant by e-mail, or calling Kirtland CU at (505) 254-4369. Nominations will be accepted until February 16, 2024. To qualify, nominees must:

  • Sign a statement that he/she is willing to serve, if elected, and provide a brief summary of qualifications and biographical data.
  • Receive the signatures of at least 1% of Kirtland FCU’s membership (those 16 years of age or older) by petition.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a member in good standing with Kirtland FCU with at least one share ($5) on deposit at Kirtland FCU.

Nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, will not be entertained. Results will be announced at the Annual Meeting.

*In accordance with Kirtland CU by-laws, candidate information is presented in alphabetical order.

Kim Fitzgerald

Incumbent? Yes

Nomination: Nominating Committee

Volunteer Experience: Ms. Fitzgerald served on the Kirtland CU Supervisory Committee for fourteen years, including several years as Secretary and five years as Chairwoman. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors at All Angels School.

Formal Education: B.A., Archaeology and Art History and M.A., Art History, University of Iowa. MBA, University of New Mexico.

Current Employment: Ms. Fitzgerald is the Director of Patient Services / Operations at New Mexico Orthopaedic Associates.

Past Employment: She worked in clinic operations for seventeen years with Presbyterian Healthcare Systems. Prior to that, she was a financial analyst for Boeing.

Cheryl Frost

Incumbent? Yes

Nomination: Nominating Committee

Volunteer Experience: Mrs. Frost has served for six years on Kirtland CU’s Board of Directors and is currently Board Secretary; she previously served four years as a Kirtland CU Supervisory Committee member. For fourteen years, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF) and previously spent ten years as a volunteer event official. In her AIBF tenure, she led their Strategic Planning Committee and was a member of the Finance Committee, among others. Additionally, Mrs. Frost has been President of Albuquerque’s local balloon club, as well as a volunteer hot air balloon instructor for numerous local safety seminars.

Formal Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Education; post-graduate courses in banking, contract law/management and program management. She was both a Certified Professional Contract Manager and a Certified Program Management Professional.

Current Employment: Retired from Honeywell Aerospace.

Past Employment: Forty-five year business management career spanning banking, contract and program management industries, primarily in the aerospace defense industry, culminating at Honeywell Aerospace as Director of Customer and Product Support.
